FAQs

An English ED visa (Education Visa) is your gateway to studying in Thailand. This special visa type allows you to stay in Thailand while learning English or other subjects. Getting an ED visa is straightforward when you study with an approved school like ours.

You can convert your visa exemption to an ED visa from within Thailand without leaving the country. However, you need at least 45-50 days remaining on your current visa exemption stamp to complete the process safely.

The process takes 30-35 days and includes:
1. Enroll at GEOS and submit your documents
2. GEOS submits your application to the Ministry of Education (MOE)
3. Wait 10 days for MOE approval
4. First visit to Chaeng Watthana Immigration with GEOS staff (document check)
5. Second visit to Chaeng Watthana Immigration with GEOS staff (receive your ED visa)

GEOS staff accompany you to both immigration visits. You need at least 15 days remaining on your stamp before the first immigration visit.

Important: If you have already used both your yearly extensions (30 days + 7 days), you will not have enough time to process from within Thailand and will need to apply at a Thai embassy abroad. GEOS can help you with this process, including providing all necessary MOE approval letters and supporting documents for your embassy application.

Yes. Thailand’s Immigration Bureau announced on November 12, 2025 that immigration officers can deny entry after 2 visa runs without justification. ED visa eliminates this risk by providing legal long-term stay (12-15 months) with 90-day extensions at Chaeng Watthana Immigration.

GEOS has maintained MOE recognition for 20+ years with a 100% approval rate for complete applications. We accompany you through the entire process, from acceptance letter to your first immigration extension. Start for as low as 22,000 THB with our Thai language course and pay-per-term option.

Our 12-month ED visa program costs 55,000 THB. This comprehensive package includes 9 weekly lessons, all learning materials, and complete visa support. Our team handles your paperwork and accompanies you to immigration appointments with translation assistance.

Yes! We understand that committing to a full year might be challenging. You can pay for your ED visa course per term, with the first term costing 27,000 THB. This makes it easier to start your Thai education journey.

4-5 weeks (30-35 days) for the complete process from enrollment to receiving your ED visa. This includes Ministry of Education approval (10 days), document preparation, and two immigration visits at Chaeng Watthana. Students who need criminal record checks should allow 7-9 weeks.

Contact us immediately! The transition to an ED visa depends on your remaining days and nationality. We’ll help you plan the perfect timing for your ED visa application to ensure a smooth switch to student status.

All ED visa classes must be attended in person, following Ministry of Education requirements. This gives you the best learning experience through face-to-face interaction with teachers and fellow students.

To maintain your ED visa status, you need to attend 6 hours of English classes each week. This schedule ensures steady progress in your studies while meeting all visa requirements.

We offer flexible morning and afternoon classes for our ED visa students. When you enroll, we’ll assess your English level and help you choose the perfect schedule that fits your lifestyle.

You can begin your English classes as soon as you complete the payment—no need to wait for your ED visa processing. Start learning while we handle your visa paperwork!

Yes, ED visa holders can travel! Just remember to get a re-entry permit before leaving and maintain good attendance. Immigration may ask questions if you travel frequently, but your ED visa status remains secure with proper documentation.

ED visa holders can easily get a re-entry permit at the airport before flying out. This ensures your visa stays valid while you're traveling outside Thailand.

Our ED visa program welcomes students from all countries! We’re proud to help international students from around the world study in Thailand.

Yes, most banks accept ED visa holders! Requirements vary by bank, but we provide all necessary documentation to support your application. Check our banking guide for detailed information.

No, ED visa holders cannot work in Thailand. Your visa is specifically for educational
purposes. See our detailed guide for more information about permitted activities.

No, we’re a legitimate language school focused on education. Our ED visa support comes as part of our comprehensive English program—we don’t provide visa-only service.
