FAQs

Yes. Thailand’s Immigration Bureau announced on November 12, 2025 that immigration officers can deny entry after 2 visa runs without justification. ED visa eliminates this risk by providing legal long-term stay (12-15 months) with 90-day extensions at Chaeng Watthana Immigration.

GEOS has maintained MOE recognition for 20+ years with a 100% approval rate for complete applications. We accompany you through the entire process, from acceptance letter to your first immigration extension. Start for as low as 25,000 THB with our Thai language course and pay-per-term option.

You can convert your visa exemption to an ED visa from within Thailand without leaving the country. However, you need at least 45-50 days remaining on your current visa exemption stamp to complete the process safely.

The process takes around 45 days (without a criminal record check) and includes:
1. Enroll at GEOS and submit your documents
2. GEOS submits your application to the Ministry of Education (MOE)
3. Wait 10 days for MOE approval
4. First visit to Chaeng Watthana Immigration with GEOS staff (document check)
5. Second visit to Chaeng Watthana Immigration with GEOS staff (receive your ED visa)

GEOS staff accompany you to both immigration visits. You need at least 15 days remaining on your stamp before the first immigration visit.

Important: If you have already used both your yearly extensions (30 days + 7 days), you will not have enough time to process from within Thailand and will need to apply at a Thai embassy abroad. GEOS can help you with this process, including providing all necessary MOE approval letters and supporting documents for your embassy application.

The Thai ED visa program is a 14-month language course designed for students wanting to learn Thai. The program consists of an 8-month foundation course followed by a 6-month advanced course. Students attend classes for 9 hours per week throughout the program.

The 14-month Thai ED visa course is 49,000 THB. This includes 9 hours of weekly lessons, all learning materials, and immigration and visa support. Our staff will handle all visa application paperwork, accompany you to immigration appointments, and provide translation assistance with officials.

Yes, you can. We offer flexible learning plans for students who don’t want to commit to the full course payment. The first term payment is 25,000 THB. Please contact our staff for detailed payment options.

30-45 days for the complete process from enrollment to receiving your ED visa. This includes Ministry of Education approval (10 days), document preparation, and two immigration visits at Chaeng Watthana. Students who need criminal record checks should allow 50-60 days.

You can switch from a tourist visa to an ED visa from within Thailand. You need at least 45 days remaining on your current stamp to complete the process safely (or 90+ days if you need a criminal background check). Contact us to verify your timeline, and we’ll guide you through the transition.

The program consists of two parts: an 8-month foundation course and a 6-month advanced course. Students must leave Thailand briefly after the first 8 months to apply for the advanced course visa. Each part requires 6 hours of weekly class attendance. GEOS provides full support with all necessary paperwork for the visa transition.

You can begin your Thai classes as soon as you complete the payment—no need to wait for your ED visa processing. Start learning while we handle your visa paperwork!

Contact us immediately! The transition to an ED visa depends on your remaining days and nationality. We’ll help you plan the perfect timing for your ED visa application to ensure a smooth switch to student status.

For the Thai language course, you need to study 9 hours per week. This requirement
ensures you maintain a valid ED visa status while making steady progress in your
studies.

After completing the 8-month foundation course, students must leave Thailand briefly to apply for their advanced course visa. GEOS will prepare all necessary documentation and guide you through this process to ensure a smooth transition to the 6-month advanced course.

All Thai language classes are conducted in person at our school in accordance with Ministry of Education requirements. This gives you the best learning experience through face-to-face interaction with teachers and fellow students.

GEOS handles all ED visa-related paperwork throughout your 14-month study period. This includes the initial application, extensions, and documentation for transitioning to the advanced course. We also provide translation assistance and accompany students to immigration appointments.
