Studying in Asoke, Bangkok: Your Best GEOS Guide 2026
Studying in Asoke, Bangkok means a five-minute walk from BTS Asoke or MRT Sukhumvit to class. GEOS is located on Sukhumvit Soi 23, right in the middle of one of Bangkok’s most connected neighborhoods. A covered skywalk keeps the route dry during the rainy season, and a nearby food court has most dishes under 50 THB.
At GEOS, our 20+ years of teaching in Asoke means we know Asoke from a student’s daily routine, not just a map. Terminal 21, Benjakitti Park, and three major hospitals all sit within easy reach. Here is what studying in Asoke actually looks like day to day.
How Do I Get to GEOS from BTS Asoke or MRT Sukhumvit?
Both stations are close. BTS Asoke takes around 5 to 10 minutes on foot, depending on walking speed. Most of that route runs along a covered skywalk from Sukhumvit through the Interchange building, so rain is rarely a problem.
MRT Sukhumvit is closer still, about 5 minutes on foot. Many students cut through the Interchange building on Soi 23, roughly 2 minutes from GEOS, rather than walking the street-level route.
Both the skywalk and the Interchange keep the walk short and mostly under cover, which students notice most during Bangkok’s rainy season.

What Food Options Are Near GEOS in Asoke?
Food is genuinely one of the easiest parts of studying here.
- Inside the Jasmine building: local food vendors at lunchtime, plus a Subway and a Starbucks.
- Along Soi 23: several restaurants, massage shops, a 7-Eleven, and options ranging from burgers to Japanese food.
- The Interchange building food court: fresh fruit and local Thai dishes, about 2 minutes from GEOS.
- Terminal 21 food court: about a 10-minute walk, right next to BTS Asoke. Most dishes are under 50 THB, and it is consistently popular with students.
Between these four options, most students never need to travel far to find something they like.
Is There Anywhere to Exercise or Relax Near GEOS?
Yes, and it goes beyond a standard gym.
- Jetts Fitness, located right at Asoke BTS, is for students who want a regular gym routine.
- Benjakitti Park, one of Bangkok’s largest and best parks, connected to Benjakitti Forest for walking.
- The Green Mile, a walking route that connects Benjakitti Park all the way to Lumpini Park, is popular with students who want a longer walk or run.
GEOS has also used Benjakitti Park for cultural events, including a past Loy Krathong celebration.

What Hospitals and Clinics Are Near Asoke?
Asoke itself does not have a major hospital, but it has many clinics, and three well-regarded hospitals sit within a short distance.
- Bumrungrad International Hospital, in nearby Nana, is a well-known private hospital.
- Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital, in Phrom Phong, in the opposite direction from Nana.
- Camillian Hospital, in Thonglor, a little further along the Sukhumvit line.
Students generally find at least one of these three suits their needs, depending on which direction they are traveling from.
Is Asoke Safe to Live in as a Student?
Soi 23, where GEOS is located, is considered a safe, lively area at night. It has a busy nightlife scene with pubs and bars, and it is also where the well-known Soi Cowboy entertainment strip is located.
For students who prefer a quieter base, several nearby sois offer calmer accommodation while staying within easy reach of GEOS and the BTS or MRT.
Where Do GEOS Students Usually Live Near Asoke?
Soi 31 is a common choice, and students there typically pay between 25,000 and 35,000 THB per month for a one- or two-bedroom apartment.
Because Asoke sits centrally on the Sukhumvit line, students living further along it are often still only around 20 minutes from GEOS. A short walk through the Interchange or along the skywalk keeps the commute simple, rain or no rain.
For students walking toward Phrom Phong instead of the BTS, Emsphere and the Emporium shopping center are about 10 minutes away, along with Benjasiri Park, another green space nearby.
